This shows my Muller Dynamo running on a homemade magnesium and carbon battery. This cell was built many months ago when I was working the the "Bedini Earth Light " project. It is a Lasersaber design that I enhanced by using an activated charcoal filter element instead of a soild carbon rod. The electrolyte is distilled water and Alum. Using Alum in the water was John Bedini's idea to control the chemical reaction between the two elements. When the cell dries out and is kept dry, the chemical reaction stops. Remoistening the cell with water starts it up again.
