A simple demonstration of a magnesium, carbon graphite and liquid laundry bleach, battery cell. The electrolyte is a commercially sold bleach (multiple brand names) with it's 6% by volume of sodium hypochlorite. WARNING: Although liquid bleach (sodium hypochlorite) is known to outgass oxygen, the contact with magnesium and any other gases released is unknown. Liquid bleach it self can cause multiple injuries; read the product label/s carefully and do as recommended for safety. Avoid or vent the bleach fumes outside. DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER CHEMICALS. DO NOT USE ACTIVATED CARBON; IT PRODUCES HIGH HEAT WITH BLEACH.
