Geosystems graduate research: What's a specific surface analyzer?

Geosystems graduate research: What's a specific surface analyzer? Video Clips. Duration : 2.75 Mins.

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology (CEE at GT) interviews geosystems graduate student Nortey Yeboah about his use of specific surface analyzer technology in his research on the characterization of biomass ash for productive reuse. Nortey says, "Combustion of woody biomass as a sole fuel source or blended with coal is an attractive option for carbon neutral electric power generation. Specific surface analysis of the ash particles from biomass combustion and co-combustion is an important step in understanding the fundamental characteristics of this emerging waste stream, providing valuable insights into potential productive reuse applications such as low-cost replacement for activated carbon in water filtration and purification."
