Sorry about the darkness... I wanted to be able to show the leds at night, as they are less than blindingly bright, but aren't so bad as free night lights. These are a couple of different cells made using some activated carbon, and fresh wet beach sand, placed in the 3/4" by 3" aluminum tubes, or on a piece of aluminum strip 1/2" by 3". The brass triangular plate is the positive pole, and the aluminum is the negative. Carbon/ beach sand mix is the electrolyte. 1.250 volts, 60mA output, unloaded, just using plain table salt added to the water, to wet the cells.
