This machine totally processes one ton (2000 pounds) of tires in 4 hours. It starts on natural gas or propane and switches over to it's own generated gas in about an hour into the process. This is the decomposition of organic material at high temperatures in an inert atmosphere (or vacuum). The pyrolysis of waste tires represents an alternative environmentally-friendly process and at the same time enables you to gain useful products. Oils obtained by pyrolysis can be used directly as a fuel or as an admixture to products of petrochemical industry, as well as be a source of chemicals. Gases can also be used as a fuel. Char can be used either as a smokeless fuel, carbon black or activated carbon, or can be gassified to obtain gaseous fuels. During the pyrolysis pyrolytic char, oil and gas occur. We obtained approximately 50 % of oil, 30 % of char, 10 % of steel 9 % of gas and 1 % of water

Capone, a rising senior, traveled to Guatemala City for a week in July to distribute homemade water filters to the squatting community situated on the edges of a dangerous 40-acre garbage dump in the center of the nation's capital, where thousands of the Latin America's most at-risk inhabitants live and work. "I really felt like it was my calling to do this water filtration project for the people of Guatemala City," Capone said. Capone travelled to Guatemala City previously on a separate church mission trip about two years ago. At the time, he collaborated with a nonprofit organization called Beyond the Walls, which is dedicated to improving the lives of the world's poor and disadvantaged. "I went to change the lives of others, but in the end that trip changed my life," Capone said. Soon after, Capone -- just a freshman at the time -- started doing water filtration research alongside Stevens Environmental Engineering Professor Xiaoguang Meng. Two years later, armed with an arsenal of engineering skills and knowledge, he returned to Guatemala City this summer with 55 others from his church, Hoboken Grace Community Church, and other churches in New Jersey and Virginia. Update on the 75 gallon tank. Previously I was running two Penguin 350 hob filters, Penguin 1140 power head, and a Tetra power head 30. I was having to vacuum the sand almost every day and change out the filter pad twice a week. When I tried to cut back on the maintenance to one a week the tank got too cloudy but the parameters where still pretty good. I've been thinking about moving to a canister type filter for some bit now and was looking into the idea of using a UV sterilizer for water clarity and to cut down on algae growth. In doing quite a bit of research, I found the Aqua Top CF-500UV. I figured at 575 gallons per hour and rated for a 175 gallon tank, it should do the job on my 75. After setting it up and had it running for two weeks the water was much worse than it was with the two Penguin 350s running. I had the CF-500Uv running for about four days with three of the four spray bar section on. I removed the spray bar for a couple of days to see if it would improve flow, but there was no real change and I didn't have the surface agitation I would like. I tried just about every configuration with the pieces that came with the unit. The canister itself is loaded in order of flow (bottom to top): 1. Corse sponge plus two fine sponges 2. One fine sponge, 2 bags of activated carbon, and one bag of Zeo-Carb 3. One fine sponge and 1500g of ceramic rings 4. This tank has been running for 4 year using only activated carbon ( 24/7) and mangroves. Water changes are perfomed biweekly using Reef Salt from Seachem (20 gal). A pure milky solution of calcium hydroxide is added to the aquarium manually to replenish evaporated water (1 tsp. aprox. 1 gal per day) No other chemicals, skimmers, reactors or any other method of filtration is used. This is my 2 gallon desktop reef aquarium. Lit by a boosted led par 30 lamp, lots of natural sunlight during the day as seen in the video. Various types of hard and soft corals as well as a couple of sponges, a mini carpet anemone 2 gobies and a rarely seen pom pom crab. Tank has been running for 13 months now. Filtration is about 2 lbs of live rock as well as 2 mangrove pods as a refugeium. A weekly .75 or so gallon water change is usually performed and every 1-2 weeks a half tablespoon of GFO and 3/4 tablespoon of activated carbon is changed in red sea mini hob filter. Additional flow provided by mini jet 404 return pump and a zoo meds powerhead hidden in the false wall. In such a small aquarium chemical warefare does occasionally happen especially with so many corals jammed in, but overall no major problems. Removing the sand bed will ensure detritus is not a serious problem and hopefully this tank will remain stable for many years to come.

In this video I describe how to make Activated Charcoal. I didn't show how to make it because it would take over 24 hours to show. These are the steps to make Activated Charcoal. Use a hardwood for your charcoal, do not use treated lumber or painted lumber. You will need a cover to put over the wood when you burn it. I used an old charcoal grilling lid. You will then have to let the wood smolder for several hours till it goes out. Wait for the wood to cool to touch so you don't burn yourself when handling it. You will then break any large chunks of the charcoal into smaller pieces and put in a 5 gallon bucket. Make a solution of 25 percent Calcium Chloride or Zinc Chloride and 75 percent clean fresh water. Pour this mixture into your 5 gallon bucket and stir thoroughly. Put the lid on your bucket and let sit for 20-24 hours. Next you will remove the charcoal from the bucket and put it on a draining tray. Allow the charcoal to drain for 1 hour. For removal of any traces of chemicals from the charcoal, you can wash and rinse repeatedly with clean fresh water. After washing keep the charcoal in the draining tray for draining. After this is complete then put your charcoal in a large pan and put it in the oven. Set your oven to 215-230 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for about 3 hours. After baking remove the now Activated Charcoal from the oven and crush it into a fine powder. For future use store the activated charcoal in a zip lock bags or airtight container. .

New facility has capacity of regeneration spent carbon 2,500 m/t per year. Its main customers are in eastern sea board industrial area.
