this must be one of the oldest type of batteries .. here i use a carbon rod from an old dead D size battery an aluminum tube .. wax and base to sit it on .. oh and very salty water (table salt in water) dont forget to dill a hole down the carbon rod .. not all the way (we dont want a hole on the bottom of the rod for water to travel up ) the salt reacts on the aluminum (makes hydrogen ?)and carbon sucks up oxygen from the air .. to make a battery ... try adding a little vingar ... and test your voltage .... injoy .. oh ps look it up on your search engine ...how to make a salt water battery ... also a nice add on to this is a ( a how to make a joule theif )..
